Where can I get this fixed?
« on: October 02, 2010, 10:25:34 pm »
Not sure what's wrong with it - maybe something to do with the motor.  But any recommendations for where to take it welcome.

Thanks

Welcome to the Forum Mary.

If its a lawnmower costing less than £100,  then either take it back under its 1 Year guarantee ... (if it qualifies) ...or throw it in a skip.

They can't be economically repaired really.

If its a petrol mower, worth a few hundred quid ... then is its worth searching further.

By the way its WAY too wet to be mowing in October !!

Good advice from Fester. Del Mowers in Llanddulas have been around for donkeys years and I think they do repairs: 01492 518095

Thanks for the recommendation Dave.

Thanks Fester - even if I'm not using it I need to know whether it's repairable or not.  No point in keeping it sitting around all winter wondering ...

Peter Lucas (Lucas tool Hire etc) in the Junction is also somewhere you can try if you are nearby - that's where I have mine done.

I still have one of those petrol-driven cylindrical lawnmowers which I bought new in 1974 and I do my utmost to keep repairing it whenever it goes wrong.

John Burgess Lawnmowers always looked after me until he took up photography and then I used Del Mowers.

The father retired and I don't think the son continued with the business for very long after that.

If he did then has hasn't been returning my telephone calls or e-mails.

The good news I have recently found someone local and his name is Paul Potter.

I cannot remember the name of Paul's business but Paul can be contacted on 01492 513601 (home) and 07883 032025 (Mobile).

As a hobby, Paul buys and restores old lawn mowers (even older than mine !!).

The good news is Paul will also do home visits which is absolutely wonderful.

I've used a roofing firm from Llangefni (Prop.  Anthony Evans   Tel 01248 489108 ) to clean moss off my roof and they did an excellent job for a reasonable price.
They work over the North West and have work in Colwyn Bay at present so I have asked Anthony Evans to call again on Monday to give me a price for work to be done on my balcony because I was so pleased with the work he has done for me already.

Have you tried Gaz Hughes?  There can't be many Llandudno roofs he hasn't been on and I've always found him and his work great.  He can be contacted on 07867574440.

Bri, I have had good reports about  Steve Williams, (Domestic Appliance Repairs Tel-01745 825206). My mother-in-law and sister-in-law have used him a couple of times and were very satisfied, and also he has no call-out charge and will give you a free estimate. Might be worth giving him a ring and having a word with him.
