Conwy Festival of Youth
« on: April 09, 2012, 10:01:25 pm »
Starting with a parade through Conwy town centre led by the Army Cadet Corps of Drums, Sunday will see Army, Sea and Air Cadets with Young Firefighters and St John's Ambulance organising activities for all, and competing in interservice competitions.  We have a climbing wall and paintball range for people to try, and we are still negotiating for more stuff to do!
In the evening there will be a Junior Battle of the Bands between groups from the senior schools and colleges across the county.  This will run up to about 9pm with the winners being given some studio time to produce a CD or demo, and a chance to headline in their own concert in Conwy Civic Hall later in the year, supported by the runners-up.
Monday will be a widely varied day of sports clubs (karate, football, golf, tennis, wheelchair basketball....), dance groups (majorettes, street dancers, Bollywood.....) and other youth focussed groups such as Scouts and Guides, drama groups and more.
It will be a chance for families to try their hands at various activities and decide whether their youngsters want to take it more seriously.  It is not often that all these clubs and groups will be in one place for people to chat with the organisers, so make the most of it folks.

Best of all... admission is FREE throughout!
