I went to Asia last night... maybe all this curry talk got my tastebuds going. It was great! Best one I've had from there yet.

I can't quite remember what it was called, something with garlic and chilli, recommended by the proprieter (who also offered me a half-price second pint while I waited).

He said he wasn't worried about new competition.

I think you had the 'South Indian garlic chilli'
It really should be simply called the 'Bangladeshi garlic chilli',  but for some reason the proprietor chooses to put South Indian into the title instead.

Went to the Seahorse on Friday night. The 3 course menu at £29.95 is great value. Food and service were excellent as always, and good to see it packed in there.  $good$

Is Don still the chef/owner there? I thought he was selling it.

Two new ticks for me today. First solo lunch at the skip, most enjoyable, followed by a mooch around my first ever B&M store. Blimey, some things are miles cheaper in there.

We popped into the new Tal Y Cafn Hotel yesterday, thinking about having a  Sunday Roast there. Unfortunately, it was completely booked up, the Manager told us that they were expecting 150 people that lunchtime! So we ended up at the Royal Oak in Betws Y Coed.

Mango and Bamboo opens this evening in the former Vollams shop.

£17.95 per adult.

Child prices are available.

Chinese and Indian buffet.

Maybe worth a try, DaveR, if the Tal y Cafn is always full.

Following Bri Roberts recommendation, I was then visited by BlongB, who seconded what Bri said.
So, we went to Mango and Bamboo on Monday.
I have to admit, the quality of food is fantastic.
A few teething troubles around the labelling of what the many dishes on offer were supposed to be, but overall it's great.
We'll be going back there soon.

I don't recall actually recommending the new restaurant, Fester, but I am pleased to learn you enjoyed the experience.

Perhaps, we shall soon give it a try as well.

I have heard that Wildwood's did not get approval for the cinema section of their plan, due to noise concerns, ?

I had a sit-down curry in The Raj in Conwy on Friday night and it was great, comfortably better than Bengal and (probably) better than Asia. Only problem was staff kicking us out at 10.30pm.
