I've been twice, the first time, with Bryn in the kitchen, the food was excellent and not entirely unreasonable, I thought. Very high quality and the staff were very friendly.

I went back for an evening meal the next week, the food wasn't as good (although still not bad) and the service was, to be frank, dire! I keep meaning to go back as that first meal was so good but I have not got around to it yet.

I was a big critic of the time it took Bryn to set up but now he's here I want Porth Eirias to be a success, of course.
After all what is time, a mere tyranny.

£9 for that!  :o shocking to my inner tightness lol! I would need open wallet surgery to pay that much!

ME, you're not alone on that.
That breakfast looks almost identical to the one I get in Cafe Indulgence, but at £3.95, which includes a 'posh' coffee!

We are regulars in Amanda's cafe in Steptoe's in Colwyn Bay, we can have two excellent veggie breakfasts with toast and drinks for around £11, that's my kind of price!  $good$

We enjoyed lunch at one of Ramsey's places in London for less that £80.00 all told.

As it happens we went in the last few days to Bryn Williams Porth Eirias for breakfast, time before was full so we had to leave it.
2 cooked breakfast, 2 Americanos and a toast was £28.00
No fried egg only poached and it says on the menu no changes.
Go to Nino's in Rhos, for £9 you get a plateful including coffee and toast.

Against my better judgement (no accounting for taste) the new Mulberry in Conwy seems to be thriving. Every table outside today was full as I ran past. I had a glance at the menu on the wall a few weeks back, nothing for me there as the vegetarian options such as they are, are limited and lacklustre.

Tal-y-Cafn pub to re-open in July after six years
A pub that closed down six years ago is now set to re-open next month - bringing 20 jobs to the Conwy Valley.
The Tal y Cafn Pub on the A470 shut in 2010 and was later sold by Punch Taverns to EPM-UK.
Now after a major redevelopment project the venue is set to re-open in July with a commitment to local food and drink.
They are now starting a recruitment drive to complete the 20 strong team at the venue which will have 120 dining covers.
