I noticed that the Haulfre Gardens cafe is being refurbished over the Winter.

Went to the Pen Y Bryn in Upper Colwyn Bay for lunch on Friday. Its always a very welcoming pub, I think, with such friendly staff. We sat in the side bit by a big open fire and watched the snow falling outside. Lunch was an open Steak sandwich, a decent sized portion and very filling for a 'light bite'. Recommended.

I can endorse what you say Dave.

Bit of a coincidence though - I was there on Friday (about 12.15 to 1.30pm) with my wife and a friend. We were sitting on the right just through the door near that fire, also watching it snow!

Well, what a concidence! I did notice quite a few people sitting in that area; we arrived at 12.40 according to my camera:

Thanks Dave. I was sat with my back to people coming in and out so was not aware of anyone I might have known.

Thanks Ian, yes I am still alive and kicking!
I have been a bit pre-occupied in recent times as we have had a major health issue in the family but things are now improving.

I'm in Coffee V in Craig Y Don having lunch and I see that they have a weekend offer, whereby you can save 25% on all coffees, sandwiches etc. Being as their prices are already very reasonable, this seems a great offer.

I had Sunday lunch this week at the Signatures Restaurant in Conwy Morfa and it was absolutely delicious, it's a shame that Hollins wasn't there to take her usual photos of the food.    $good$
It may be slightly dearer than some others but the standard of food and service were excellent and we were able to manage the 3 courses, but only just!    :)

Hugo, have you not signed up yet for three courses for the price of two after 3pm on Sundays?  ;)
