Strange time of the year for an ice cream business to cut back on staff.

Wednesday was such a lovely day we decided to go to Plas Maenan just for an afternoon coffee.  The roadworks on the A470 were a pain but it was still worth the effort once we were there.
We sat on the verandah and the views over to the Carneddau are worth seeing.   As we sat a helicopter passed over on it's way towards Conwy and about 15 minutes later a jet flew low down the Conwy Valley in the opposite direction.
The atmosphere was very relaxing and it was so nice taking in everything.  A great way to spend an hour or two and we ended up watching the Rabbits playing in the fields below the car park.
The views are from Cadair Ifan Goch which is just above the Hotel

If you go there in May, do the short walk to Cadair Ifan Goch and you'll see a fine display of Bluebells  there and then you can  finish the walk by going for a nice coffee at Plas Maenan.        $cofffee$

Something to do with rules and regulations, unsigned papers, CCBC, Fire service, you name it, it is all whizzing round the district-- someone must know the proper story.
Mad, Bad and Dangerous to know.

The fact they went to the trouble of boarding up the front of the building indicates they don't plan to be back for a while...?

A rare event took place in Deganwy today. Mr and Mrs Hollins had lunch together in the Quay Hotel, Deganwy.
Husband was dragged kicking and screaming from the garden but he enjoyed it when he got there.
It is such a splendid view from there. the service was good and the food freshly prepared.
Here is a photo of his fish platter.
Have I inspired any non posting members to write a local restaurant review I wonder!!!

I've not eaten in the Deganwy Quay Hotel (yet) but its certainly a great place to sit out on the Terrace on a warm evening and watch the sun go down.  $good$

I used to prefer it when the restaurant was open upstairs. They used to do a really good value set lunch menu. I think from memory it was £11.50 for 2 courses. It was a superb room with lovely tables by the windows.
Still good food but not the same bargain now.
Unfortunately it wasn't warm enough to sit out today.
The sunsets must be fabulous from there.
