I was amazed yesterday at the long list of coffee places in Llandudno.
What about having a forum vote on which are the better/favourite ones?

Fountains Bar has had a small extension to its seating area added, along with a new floor and a bit of a paint. Looks much better...  ;)

About 500 places in Llandudno where you can buy a cuppa coffee.
All 500 are overpriced In my humble opinion.   Most of 'em falling apart, others are poxy hotels.
Others are an afterthought, Waterstones is a book shop, but books don't make money, shall we sell coffee?

Welcome to the forum, The ONE.  $good$

Is there nowhere in Llandudno that you think serves a good cup of coffee? Personally, I think both Caffe Nero and Cafe Culture are pretty good.

Costa Coffee is GREAT... apart from the long wait and the messy tables.

You can't go wrong for value in Weatherspoons, its Lavazza coffee, and only £1.49 for a large one.  ;D

The point you miss is this...you can have the finest coffee in the world...but if you have a dopey person making it who doesn't know or care about making good coffee, then you may as well be serving that Nescafe rubbish like they do on the pier.

Cafe Culture?  You jest.
Expensive and poor quality coffee is becoming the culture.

Cafe Nero, reserving judgement, not been in yet. Working away at the moment.  $eu

Well, I go in quite a bit and it seems fine to me. Each to their own, I suppose. $good$

The staff in Cafe Culture are very friendly and quick.... I have a lot of time for them.

Unlike Caffe Nero, where I believe the experience is painfully slow.

In Summer the queue in CN will be horrendous, and that is why CC will still be very busy.

I waited 5 mins for two coffees in Caffe Nero on Monday, both very nice but a long wait, perhaps because they are still learning??

If Caffe Nero start putting tables and chairs outside on the pavement during the Summer then the queue will be longer.

The queue for toilet upstairs will be even longer.

Caffe Nero staff have to serve up to 4 customers at once. In addition, they have a very specific method for making coffee, in order to ensure the quality (milk has to be heated to a specific temperature etc), so it will never be as fast as some other coffee shops. The staff in red shirts are trainee baristas and will be slower than the fully trained staff in black shirts.

There's a lengthy article on the Caffe Nero training process and the coffee making process here:

If I was the manager, I would insist staff deliver orders to customers' tables in an attempt to reduce the queue.
