I hope that the residents behave themselves a lot better than the other place did

This is more for families, so apart from trouble with rubbish to begin with, which was CCBCs fault for not providing the correct bins and the pong of 'weed' things have been far better managed.

It’s quite natural really.
When CCBC are offering a very lucrative deal for anyone housing people for them.
Be it homeless people, migrants or refugees.
£100 per night for bed only, and an extra £30 per person if you provide them two meals.
There are other, similarly lucrative packages available if you own a private house, and you are prepared to let CCBC house people.
In addition, they will maintain the propane refurbish it should any damage be found at the end of the lease period.
It’s certainly understandable why hotels would seek this stable and relatively high revenue stream.

More beggars sitting in Mostyn Street as I walked through this morning. Unbelievable with all Hotels crying out for Staff. It's time our Police moved them on after all they do have the power to do so.

Chef who worked with Heston Blumenthal opens dream restaurant in North Wales 'food paradise'
Nick Rudge was spurred on by the success of a takeaway service he ran in the spring

An ambitious chef who has worked with Heston Blumenthal is opening a new restaurant in a "food paradise" of North Wales.

Nick Rudge was previously on the celebrity chef's team at Michelin-starred The Fat Duck in Bray near Maidenhead, and also ran a temporary delivery service from his Llandudno home when COVID-19 restrictions were eased in the spring.

But he has harboured a dream of opening a permanent restaurant of his own in Conwy High Street.

The restaurant is called The Jackdaw - a traditional name given to people born within the town walls - and is due to open above the former bingo hall in the coming weeks.

A North Wales restaurant chain is closing one of its US-style diners and drive-thrus.

Harvey’s New York Bar and Grill said its Rhuddlan outlet in Denbighshire will be shutting its doors tomorrow, October 4.

The announcement, made on social media, follows the closure of Harvey’s Pwllheli restaurant last year, which failed to re-open after lockdown.

It leaves the chain with just two restaurants, in Llandudno  and Bangor.

Owner Craig Holmes said he was unable to comment on the reasons for the latest closure at present.           ref DP

Chef Nick Rudge, who worked at Michelin-starred The Fat Duck in Bray near Slough, opens The Jackdaw in Conwy High Street on Thursday evening.

The 27-year-old has been busy getting his eaterie, which will use local produce as much as possible, ready and the response has been tremendous.

He said: "I've been over here pretty much every day for a while, painting, tiling and helping on the desk. My brother has been working on the computer which has been a great help."

Hungry customers have been booking online or by email as the phone line hasn't been running yet.

Nick said: "It seems that every Saturday night is fully booked. It's been amazing and very heartwarming. A lot of the customers are locals which is great.

"However, we're also open on Wednesdays and Thursdays for dinners and Fridays and Saturdays for lunches too.

THE owner of a Llandudno-based brewery has hailed the cancellation of the planned rise in the tax duty on spirits, wine, cider and beer, as announced in the Budget speech by Chancellor Rishi Sunak on Wednesday.

But Dave Faragher, who founded Wild Horse Brewing Co in 2015, added that the five per cent cut to rates on draught beer and cider from containers larger than 40 litres, as of 2023, may have been misinterpreted as customers ‘paying less for their pint’.

As well as fuel, the planned rise in duties on alcoholic products were cancelled by the Chancellor, who called the UK’s 380-year-old system of alcohol duty ‘outdated, complex and full of historical anomalies’.

Popular Italian restaurant back on the market with reduced price tag          ref DP
Alfredos Restaurant in Conwy was first put on the market in 2019 for £825,000

The popular Alfredo Restaurant in Conwy is back on the market after being run by the same family for 32 years.

The restaurant has been operating in Conwy since 1959 after the building - the former Boot Inn and Plas Coch - was converted into an eatery.

Founded by Italian Biagio Ramiconi, the restaurant has been put back on the market after it failed to sell in 2019

The price has been reduced from £825,000 to £649, 950, and is now being put up for sale with Fletcher & Poole estate agents.
It has 120 covers and has been a favourite spot for visitors and locals, and is an institution in the medieval town.

A pub in the Conwy Valley brought back to its "former glories" in recent years is now on the market.                  ref DP
Y Bedol bar and bistro, in Tal Y Bont, has like many rural pubs had its ups and downs in recent years.

But owners Steve and Marion Hesketh took over in 2016 and have put money and passion into revitalising the local in a venture that has proved "overwhelmingly successful".

Now the site is on the market with estate agent Dafydd Hardy for £435,000.
