Recently we stayed at Station House Tal y Cafn; it was excellent, home from home  :)
Return train fare to  Llandudno for  three adult was less than £6

Being next door, we had a couple of  evening meals at the Pub
which has been refurbed nicely, food was good especially the Sticky toffee pudding  $good$

It looks like a really nice place to stay and is in a lovely location with the bonus being the restaurant next door.     That stretch of line from Llandudno to Blaenau Ffestiniog is free to travel on providing you have your bus pass

I was recently in Starbucks Mostyn St coffee shop, when I heard the Barista shout:

“Cappuccino for Spartacus”

twelve people stood up

Disgruntled residents fed up with late night noise from patrons of a nightclub are objecting to plans to extend its licence.

The Broadway Boulevard nightclub in Llandudno has asked Conwy Council’s licensing committee to grant it an extra one hour of opening so it can keep going until 4am.

This means the club will be open to play music and sell alcohol until 4am seven days a week up from the current three nights a week it opens.

AA Hospitality Awards:

Bryn Williams at Porth Eirias, in Colwyn Bay , was crowned Restaurant of the Year Wales.
Praising Bryn Williams, an AA inspector said it had "Floor-to-ceiling windows offer sweeping views of Colwyn Bay, and exposed steelwork, pendant lights and industrial-chic create the feeling of a hip, big-city eatery."

Obviously great recognition for Porth Eirias and Colwyn Bay, but there was one comment, at the bottom of the article, which had a ring of truth to it.

comment.....
"Nice ratepayer subsidised bistro for the wealthy retired, next year it will be Dylan’s turn"

“The concerns of the neighbours are specifically related to noise and people leaving the premises at a late hour with the noise and anti-social behaviour that follows.

“Having heard from the applicant that everything in place at present is there to prevent a nuisance and that the neighbours continue to be affected we do not feel that there are any further conditions that can be applied if an additional hour is granted.

“The committee was satisfied when it heard from the neighbours and the committee is concerned that it will only move the problem to a later hour. The committee acknowledges the offer to amend the application but we do not feel this overcomes the concerns of the neighbours. The position of the committee is to refuse the application.”

The applicant can appeal the committee’s decision to the Magistrates Court.

I do believe the Broadway was a nightclub prior to the house's being built.planning should of been aware and acted accordingly

At that time they also had the Washington Hotel on the other side and there would be a lot of noise coming from there too

This was a bit of a surprise,  "Conwy Archives site at Old Board School on Lloyd Street, to become a distillery"  at first I wondered if this would affect Hugo's excellent searches, then I thought what if he still went there after the conversion, would his reports be accurate $drink1$

Colwyn Bay's The Station pub has shut and there's rumours it could reopen as a sports bar
The Station Road venue closed on Sunday and staff have still not been told when it will reopen or when they can return to work.

Hollins, your photos make everything look delicious but what is that in the photo as I can't quite make it out?
