The Cross Keys is our closest pub and I am hoping too it comes back refreshed and with a focus on real ales. Seems to be something that is lacking in Llandudno unfortunately. Hopefully, the planning permission for the micropub across the road from the Cross Keys gets the go ahead.  Z**

Had a very average meal on Saturday night with my family a The New Mediterranean Restaurant, Early in the evening the table next to us refused to pay their bill which was an omen. For the first time ever, I asked for a main meal to be removed from our bill because it was basically inedible. It seems to have a better reputation than this, perhaps they lost their chef recently. Either way, we won't be returning.

I heard the Cross Keys is being refurbished into a Sports Bar, whatever that may entail.

I'm game for either a sports bar or a real ale pub. Llandudno hasn't either so gap in the market as far as I see it.
After all what is time, a mere tyranny.

The 147 used to be frequented by myself when I wanted to watch a live game but in the end I decided that their hygiene standards were so disgusting I wasn't prepared to put up with it anymore. If you can't get a seat and stand in the same spot for too long you are stuck to the carpet, tables are never wiped clean etc etc. That said I haven't stepped inside for about 3 years so things may have changed for the better.
I have tried various pubs and even Rhos Golf Club but none provide the place I'm looking for. For a recent 12.30 KO one place I have been to in the past didn't open until 1.00pm! I now watch BT at home, Sky at a friend's house which is comfortable but not the atmosphere of a bigger pub style venue.

I remember it as a snooker club and went a couple of times. A break to me consisted of 2 balls potted in succession!
Interesting dress code at the time, I wasn't aware of a dodgy element when we went! Maybe some people got really upset when they lost?!

Club 147 is a bit of a hole though, terrible selection of beer, not a hint of sunlight, sticky floors.

The benches in the same place, the bar just the same.
I see some emulsion on the walks and a new laminate floor.
Not much investment there.

This popular restaurant chain is now looking to come to North Wales
The rapidly expanding firm that owns the Botanist chain has its eye on the region.

The nearest Botanist restaurant is currently in Chester   http://thebotanist.uk.com/ with Llandudno, Bangor and Wrexham under consideration for potential new sites.
