Shame... :( ...Are the Mostyn St. rents high?....a start up scheme would be good for business, a couple of years low rent, gradually increasing, might give people a chance, better than empty shops.

Rents range from about £30k to £100k a year. Sadly, most of the shops are owned by pension funds etc, who have no interest in having a vibrant local high street. Business rates are also a major factor, far too high to allow a family business to expand onto Mostyn St without taking a big risk.

Thank you D.   Pension funds were a surprise, I thought it was Mostyn estates ....looking up Business rates I found this old piece http://www.dailypost.co.uk/news/local-news/business-rates-rise-shock-new-2648330   Short term thinking, and if they reintroduced it, nobody would trust them again without written agreements .
I do not think the "Chains" would complain if new businesses were given a helping hand, better that than the street dying.
Forgot to mention the rents, even the lowest is scary for an untried business.

Such a shame, another empty unit, with no sign of any movement on the 6 empty shops it looks like we are going to have a lot more joining the exodus.

And there is me holding a credit note for a retuned item. Very very rare that I have ever had one of these. If I take an item back  anywhere I always exchange for something else, but I couldn't find anything in Snowdonia I needed.

That might be why it went out of business!

If there are any Beckham calendars there don't tell Hollins or else she'll be there and will buy the lot!       ;D
