I was pleased to see that the decorative tilework in the floor outside Clares is being renovated at last.

I also noticed that W H Smith is being painted, something that is also long overdue. Why they need to use painters from Newtown, rather than local tradesmen, I don't know?

Because it's easier for them to have a centralised list of reliable contractors rather than have to shop around and negotiate on an individual basis whenever they need a bit of painting doing.  This can work both ways though, I used to do the accounts for a business from the Three Towns region which once won a national contract with Rumbelows (it was a while ago) which was worth a small fortune to them.  And who knows, perhaps there are contractors from Llandudno currently working in Newtown.

At least the business is staying in Wales, I suppose.  $walesflag$

Far too often in Llandudno, national retailers are happy for the people of Llandudno to spend money in their shops but appoint trademen from outside the area to do work for them.

Looks like a shoe shop is opening on Vaughan Street in the shop formerly known as "In da house". Stock being put on shelves so probably open in next couple of days.

Both Grumpy's sweet shop and the Oatcake shop now have pavement stalls selling fruit and veg.

Peeping through the window last night of the former Diskos, and lately Little Poppets, it very much looks as if it wil be a sweet shop.

Seems unfair to tar all cucumbers with the same brush, I'm sure some are quite peaceful!

I did hear that some courgettes wanted to join the fray but were considered too young!   L0L

Good to see a local business expanding into the old Little Poppets shop:
