I don't believe it's owned by Mostyn Estates. Or, if it is, they've just bought it. The Long Leasehold was up for sale last year at £550,000.

Ian48, you're right, it would benefit immensely by the decorative elements being reinstated.

Mostyn Estates acquired the premises around a month ago I believe.

It's interesting that Mostyn Estates seem now to have a policy of buying back the Long Leaseholds (they already own the Freehold). They bought No.1 Mostyn Street last year and completely refurbished it before letting it to the WG&Co Gift Shop.

Yes, it is interesting. Perhaps they might restore the front then...(though they would need planning permission I guess and I haven't seen any indication of that).

Ah, I didn't realise that they had bought no. 1 Mostyn St. That's another one to add to the list of nicely done-up properties.

I suppose it's probably a good thing that they have the leasehold, as they are local and aren't some investement fund or absentee landlord who couldn't give a monkeys.

Workmen are this morning installing the new glazed canopy on the Sainsburys store. Good to see it being done, as Sainsburys were initially reluctant to pay for it.

I notice the canopy is being installed by a local company, AA Conservatories.  $good$

Well done, Neil.

The former Diskos shop was having scaffolding erected today, maybe the facade is being restored to its former glory, after all?

I guess Sainsburys can choose to expand upstairs if their new store proves popular.

Seems a waste of space at the moment, two large upstairs floors being empty.
