I'm told that Aldi have introduced measures to improve customer safety but both limiting customer entries, controlling space in queues to get in and creating a one way direction with no u-turns  to go back for all those once inside.
Think about your shopping list before you go in and try and put it in the order that goods are stocked and that will make your visit a lot quicker, reduce queues and hopefully not miss anything needed too.
Thanks for the Aldi tip, Morrisons are trying food boxes.

Morrisons doing boxes of meat, veg and household goods for next day delivery
People won't get a choice of what's in the packs, other than meat or vegetarian options

ie  The initiative provides a hassle free way for customers to get their essentials. The content of the boxes are random but a meat eater box, for example, typically includes: canned baked beans, soup and pasta sauce; milk; dairy products such as butter and cheese; bread; rice and pasta; meat products, such as sausage, bacon and cooked meat; vegetables, such as potatoes, carrots and onions; fresh meat such as chicken or beef; essential household items.   each box costs £35.

Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury's and Primark face rates bills whammy in Wales after u-turn
Welsh Government has decided not to give a rates holiday to major supermarkets and other large retail sites.

Supermarket giants and other major retailers will be hit with large bills after Welsh Government cancelled their business rates 'holiday'.

Welsh Government has done a u-turn on plans for every retail, leisure and hospitality property in Wales to get a business rates break - with around 200 large stores and major hotels set to be impacted.

But it has now performed a u-turn with properties with a rateable value of over £500,000 set to lose 100% rates relief - and the money used to help the self employed.

n North Wales this will impact any large supermarket sites with chains like Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury's and Morrisons impacted. For example Tesco in Llandudno Junction will now have to pay out around £500K in rates.

With the supermarkets booming in the crisis they shouldn't struggle to find the cash.
They say it will raise around £100m for an economic crisis fund to support smaller businesses and the self employed.

PS
Experts predict thousands of shops may never re-open

Thousands of shops up and down the country may have closed their doors for the last time this week following the Government's coronavirus lockdown, experts have warned.

More than 20,600 retailers are expected to have pulled their shutters down for the final time by the end of the year, according to new figures, a massive leap on the 4,547 that closed in 2019.

"We expect large retail businesses to now be looking at exactly how many stores they expect to operate in 2021 and beyond in order to trade successfully moving forward.

"They will now make plans to achieve those objectives," said Professor Joshua Bamfield, director at the Centre for Retail Research, which made the estimates.  ref Pioneer

More than 2,400 jobs are at risk after controversial rent-to-own retailer BrightHouse sank into administration yesterday, just days after it closed all its stores due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The company, whose 240 stores include shops in Colwyn Bay, Wrexham, Rhyl and Bangor, appointed Grant Thornton to keep running the business, and collecting money from customers.

The business will still look after customers’ appliances until their contracts run out.      cont   https://www.dailypost.co.uk/news/north-wales-news/north-waless-four-brighthouse-stores-18009912

LIST, LIST LIST...Don't stand and browse. This morning's experience was marred by a woman who kept dawdling, looking prodding things and then not buying. Thus, we and a long row of well behaved shoppers were kept waiting as no overtaking was allowed. I felt sorry for the staff who were trying to keep everything running smoothly. *punch*

SHOPPERS will be able to make contactless card payments with a new higher limit of up to £45 per transaction from Wednesday.
The contactless card payment limit in shops is increasing by £15, from £30 previously, as part of measures to combat coronavirus.

Poundland has temporarily closed 32 stores from today with another 68 set to shut in the coming days.

The discount retailer revealed the initial list of shops shutting - which don't include any in North Wales.
But this could change by the end of the week with the retailer saying around 100 stores will shut in total from its UK estate of just under 900.  https://www.dailypost.co.uk/whats-on/shopping/poundland-stores-could-temporarily-close-18012793

New opening hours for Asda, Aldi, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Morrisons and Iceland

Most stores are getting back to offering fully stocked fresh produce and only have a few holes in stock left to fill.
However, the maximum limit of three items per customer remains across most stores nationwide.

Shops are implementing a one person per household rule, however this does not apply to vulnerable people and carers, or parents with children.

To find out when it is best to shop at your local supermarket, google your postcode and the store, e.g ‘Tesco’ and a chart will show you when the busiest and quietest times are.

Debenhams has not yet filed for insolvency but sources told PA that administration is the "most likely" course of action. Stores are already closed due to the coronavirus lockdown but its website is still operating.

The retailer has reportedly lined up accountancy firm KPMG to handle the process with a potential pre-pack administration lined up. DP

Debenhams will file for administration after the coronavirus lockdown forced it to shut its shop across the UK.

It described the process as a "light touch" administration to protect it from legal action from creditors while its department stores are closed.    cont  https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-52182199

Debenhams tight lipped on North Wales stores with concerns rates hit could threaten their futures

In England all retail, leisure and hospitality properties have had their rates halted for a year.

But in Wales properties with a rateable value of £500,000 and above will not get a break in rates. The money saved has gone to a fund for smaller businesses.

This impacts the Debenhams stores in Llandudno and Wrexham - which will pay around £500K and £250K in rates respectively, potentially a factor in deciding their futures.

The store in Bangor does not reach the £500K threshold.
