The Victoria shopping centre is quite a sad sight these day.
So many empty, concealed or struggling units.

Why not close close it down and reopen it as a night time arcade of bars and cafes?
It would be busier than it is now.

You could police it better too and make sure it was a safe environment for all.

I always buy my clothes there.
Hence why you often see me walking around town dressed as a Japanese Admiral.

I see the former Staples, now Office Outlet has a closing down sale on.
Staff say it will close in the next few weeks. Sadly with the internet this could not be described as surprising.
Former Staples store has signs up for Oak Furniture Land opening in Oct.     http://www.oakfurnitureland.co.uk/

Also reading this article makes me realise Llandudno is holding it's own in these difficult times.....
Mixed picture for BHS stores one year after closure.
Of the 160 BHS stores closed, only 16% .... 25 shops have been reopened.

Walking through the Victoria Centre yesterday, we noticed Store 21 has reopened although all purchases have to be paid for in cash for the time being.

People have just one week remaining to spend their old £1 coins before businesses can refuse to accept them.
From 16 October, the round £1 coin will no longer be legal tender, having been replaced by a new 12-sided version earlier this year.
It will still be possible to deposit the old coins at most high street banks and the Post Office after that date.BBC

Historic menswear retailer Greenwoods has been bought out of administration.
The suit shop chain dates backs to 1860 with 63 stores across the UK
It went into administration last month - putting the future of the stores and nearly 320 workers under threat.
Now the group has been bought by Versatile International Trading Limited.

Shock as Marks & Spencer to quit Llandudno town centre
The store, one of the High Street giant's oldest in the UK, is to move out of its iconic town centre building in favour of a retail park.

Marks & Spencer’s Llandudno store is to close.
If the move goes ahead it will be viewed as a huge blow to the town centre, which has struggled in recent years.

At present M&S has two stores in Llandudno on Mostyn Street. Its satellite store which houses childrenswear and menswear will close in February, and will be consolidated into the bigger store.
A spokesman for M&S says there will be no job losses as part of the move.
The spokeswoman told the Daily Post: “The satellite store will close in February, and everything will be consolidated into the bigger store.
“A planning application will be submitted at the beginning of the new year for the bigger store to move onto Parc Llandudno, where we don’t have a presence.

There will be no job losses as a result of the moves.”
It is not yet clear where the new store will be located in Parc Llandudno.   Ref DP

Serves the greedy landlords right I suppose.... a ghost town awaits Mostyn Street.

What amuses me is seeing Mostyn Estates challenge an M&S business decision, there’s only one winner there!

One thing Mostyn absolutely won't want is M&S moving to the Junction, possibly on the planned Brickworks site?
After all what is time, a mere tyranny.

On the estate where we live in CyD there are covenants imposed by Mostyn Estates ever since it was built way back in 1979 but, to the best of my knowledge and belief, whenever residents have complained to them about a breach of covenant they have taken no action.

Perhaps, a precedent has already been set if M&S wish to eventually sell food on Parc Llandudno.

I would much prefer to see M&S on Parc Llandudno rather than in Llandudno Junction.

It's a planning restriction on Parc Llandudno, rather than a Covenant. Can't be ignored, can only be overturned after a fresh planning application to vary the planning consent for the original development.

Similar situation on Mostyn Champneys with TKMaxx - that was a hurdle quickly overcome. But it is a hurdle nonetheless.
