Yes, he's sadly not with us anymore.....along with Tony.  :( Two local characters, gone but not forgotten.

It will still be called Hooson's Corner as it has been since Hooson left the place years ago!    ZXZ
Does the family still own the building?

I believe the whole L-Block is owned by the same individual(s).

That will probably be from Marie et Cie and right round to the Con Club and maybe as far as the Masonic Building.

The Hoosons Building is owned by a company called 'Marketing Exchange for Africa Limited', who are apparently a London Property Investment company.

EDIT: I've been informed by a very good source that the company above only owns the upper floors, the actual shop units are owned by Bryn Pharmacies. Thanks, very good source$good$

 years ago the saying was i,ll show my a**e in burtons window  or to pick an old tart up there lol or that was where the 2 bobbies would stand and you couldn,t see them in the dark doorway oh that was when  they walked the streets

THere is a rumour ???? flying round locally that the Chemists is to be a Charity Shop.

Might only be a rumour-- it is a very large space for a Charity Shop to fill unless they are going to sell furniture. Also the place smells awful, the Chemist was telling my OH before it closed that there are dire problems with the drains in the basement.
