I did read something that said although there is no gold being mined now, they are getting some from the ore that has already been extracted from the mines.
Glogau is a registered name so there must be some Welsh gold in the jewellery for it to be sold under the Glogau brand but the extract below may explain this better

"Today, Welsh gold is scarcer than it has ever been. When mining took place at the Clogau St. David’s Gold Mine in the late 1990s it used to cost over £1000 an ounce to extract.

With no gold mining taking place in Wales today, Welsh gold supplies may eventually run out, making it possibly the rarest gold in the world. Due to the scarcity of Welsh gold, only a small amount is included within each piece of Clogau. This ensures the longevity of Welsh gold supplies, and the affordability of Clogau’s jewellery."

Some pieces have the 'rose gold' visible by way of small embellishments, some is part of the actual structure of the pieces.

First it was out of town shopping, then online, times are changing, it's going to be an interesting future for my grandchildren.

The UK's competition watchdog has launched an investigation into the proposed Sainsbury's-Asda merger.

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) will look into whether the deal will mean less consumer choice, higher prices or worse service.
The combined group would be the UK's biggest retail chain with 2,800 stores and 31.4% of the grocery market.
The CMA will also look at whether the merged company could use its size to squeeze the prices it pays suppliers.

Analysts have estimated that the CMA will recommend that 6%, or 73, of the combined group's supermarkets should be sold off.

The chief executive of the CMA, Andrea Coscelli, said: "About £190bn is spent each year on food and groceries in the UK so it's vital to find out if the millions of people who shop in supermarkets could lose out as a result of this deal.

Jewellery brand Clogau is to open four new stores in a major expansion.

Following the successful opening of its Broughton store in the spring , the family owned business will open stores in Llandudno, Bangor, Swansea and a new larger site for its successful outlet at Cheshire Oaks.

This expansion will include moving into the Gregory’s Jewellers stores in Llandudno   which are due to close at the end of September.

Ben Roberts, managing director, spoke about the exciting new developments for the Bodelwyddan based company.
He said: “I am really proud to be opening stores close to home where the business first started in Colwyn Bay, our first stores in north west Wales.

“We have worked closely with Lord Mostyn and Mostyn Estates to develop the store design in keeping with Llandudno ,but also portraying our new look.”

The new stores are scheduled to open in October and will come as a new TV advert featuring brand ambassador Gethin Jones and some fabulous festive limited edition pieces is unveiled.           REF  DP

Maybe M&S are just biding their time, re their impending move to Parc Llandudno.

"As we head towards midday, things aren't getting any better for Debenhams.
The department store's share price is down 16.9% at 10.63p after it emerged at the weekend that the company has retained KPMG to assess its options - including a Company Voluntary Arrangement."    refBBC

Would need a large input of money to make the premises safe. The upper floor has been closed to the public for many a long year.

Claire's possibly closing, ...........not Clare's of Mostyn St.

Claire's fear that the UK chain of fashion accessories shops could disappear from high streets, mounted earlier this year after its US parent, Claire's Stores Inc, filed for bankruptcy.

I was in the Victoria Centre yesterday, and Store 21 has emptied, closed down again ?, now the threat of Claire's, the centre was looking quiet, but so was the town. the old Mothercare however will be opening soon as a toy store.

Bearing in mind the above...........

The shocking shopper figures that should be a 'wake-up call' in Wales
The latest footfall statistics make grim reading for the Welsh retail sector.

"These figures ought to serve as a wake-up call to policy makers, beginning with a far greater focus being brought to bear on reducing the costs of doing business."    https://www.dailypost.co.uk/business/business-news/shocking-shopper-figures-should-wake-15281335
