It's been known as desecrated coconut as long as I remember here.  Maybe it's just a word play of sorts, same as I like arboreal rice in a risotto...

A couple of interesting articles on the BBC business link this morning.

High Street stores opening at lowest rate in seven years.
The Local Data Company, which studied the top 500 British town centres, found there were 4,083 new store openings in 2017, the lowest since 2010.
But with 5,855 outlets closing in 2017, a total of 1,772 shops disappeared.
Clothing and shoe shops closed at the fastest rate, while the number of beauty salons, coffee shops, ice-cream parlours and bookshops increased.

I liked this optimistic statement.......
"Businesses with a relevant proposition and a strong understanding of their customer can absolutely still thrive in the right locations.

Equally, more established brands who continue to tweak their offer and innovate on the way through will no doubt see positive results and retain their valued place on our High Streets."

Profits at Tesco have soared as the UK's biggest supermarket continues its revival under boss Dave Lewis.
The group reported pre-tax profits of £1.3bn for the year to 24 February, up from £145m for the previous year, as UK like-for-like sales rose 2.2%.

This sounds more like taking advantage of the system, to reduce rents ?

Poundworld stores in North Wales at risk under plans to close 100 UK shops
The discount retailer has seven stores in the region.
Discount chain Poundworld could be set to axe 100 stores in a major restructuring plan.

Poundworld is considering a so-called Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA), an insolvency procedure which would allow it to slash its rents and close stores.

We noticed this afternoon that Store 21 has suddenly closed down in the Victoria Centre.

It seems Store 21 has re-opened again.

I doubt if Fester is surprised !!

Mothercare has confirmed it is closing 50 stores as part of a rescue plan, a move that will put 800 jobs at risk.

The baby products retailer said it was in a "perilous" financial position.
The store closures will leave it with 78 outlets in the UK by 2020.

The retailer has already nearly halved its store numbers over the past five years. It had intended have 92 outlets by 2023, but has now accelerated its closure plans and will have just 73 by that year.

"The mums I met yesterday bought their baby stuff in the likes of Primark and the supermarkets. Mothercare, they told me, was too pricey.
Truth is, this chain has been struggling for a long time. It's UK business hasn't made a profit since 2012. It's yet another High Street chain that hasn't kept up with changing shopping habits and increasing competition. The tough conditions on the high street have finally brought things to a head."

The DP is saying the same thing.

Marks and Spencer has announced that it will close 100 stores by 2022, accelerating a reorganisation that it says is "vital" for the firm's future.

Of the 100 stores, 21 have already been shut and M&S has now revealed the location of 14 further sites to close.
It is part of a revamp that was started in November 2016.

Under its plan M&S wants to move a third of its sales online, and plans to have fewer, larger clothing and homeware stores in better locations.  ref BBC news
