Which probably explains this !!

??? I find it hard to understand how DFS have not filled their job vacancies for the Llandudno store, they seem to have been advertising these jobs for months yet still advertising today ,weird. ZXZ

Have you seen the scale of the alterations still being carried out?

Perhaps, DFS are unable to say when they hope to be open.

Just had a reply to my question to Sainsburys, when are you planning on opening, their reply was when we recieve our alcohol license,so the store is being held up by CCBC.

Rumour has it (over on Oscar) that the Sainsbury's shop may not open after all.

It goes on to say that work has ceased, pending a decision on whether Tesco comes to town.

I think that's unlikely, but you never know. Sainsburys have certainly signed the lease and stripped out the interior, so they are pretty much committed. Personally, I'd go to Sainsburys rather than Tesco every time.

Recently, thanks to some vouchers that Sainsburys sent us (£6 off if you spend £40) we have been going once a week to Sainsburys at Rhyl and it's very good with many good prices too  D)  The one problem with using the old Woolworths site in Llandudno is no parking (unless you are lucky!)

The other day I purchased 4 tyres for the price of 3 at ATS on the prom and received an application form to send off for £40 off a grocery bill or £40 of petrol at Sainsburys.

As for CCBC holding things up, it could be because of this:

The application for an Alcohol Licence by Sainsburys for the former Woolies site is daily from 6am – Midnight.

There is a second application to serve refreshments from 11pm – Midnight.

What is that all about?

Their application is being dealt with by a firm of solicitors down in London who will no doubt know what they are doing.

It's a standard Licence application for any shop that wishes to open late. The Licencing Sub-Committee doesn't meet very often, so it will have to wait until their next meeting.

The owners of Manor Fine Foods are opening a new 'Manor Kitchen & Wares' shop in the old Whoops shop in St Georges Place.
