DaveR:
I've just installed a new feature, which is a series of Photo Galleries. Perhaps you could all have a click and see if the galleries/photos display correctly for you? Please post on here if you have any problems, many thanks. Dave

Just to keep everyone abreast of what's happening.

We're both beavering away n the following things:  introducing a gallery (which Dave has done - and very nice it is, too :-) ), monitoring new members to try to ensure we don't get spammers - we've already kicked three into touch, introducing mods to allow for YouTube, video and other types of media to be used and also looking into the various tiny niggles that appear with any new package.  Both Dave and I are also logged on under different names so we can test the forum as an ordinary (non-admin) user would - I use Zeke, so that's me, if you see him.

Any problems then please let us know.

DaveR:
The gallery is coming along nicely, I've already uploaded 271 old postcards/photos etc and there are quite a few more to come.

I've also added a Gallery button to the blue menu bar at the top of the screen (please note you will need to be logged in to see the Gallery, otherwise you will get an error message). Eventually, members will be able to add in their own Albums/Photos etc, once a few little tweaks in the software are sorted out.

The Gallery also has a nice little feature, whereby any photo etc in it can be displayed in a forum message. Just go to a photo, click on it and a popup box with a larger version appears. Click on 'Details' at the bottom right of the popup box and the proper page will be loaded for that photo. Underneath the photo, you will see some information about it, in the box next to 'BBC embed code', you will see something that looks like this:

--- Quote ---[ smg id=277 ]
--- End quote ---

Simply copy that and paste into into your message wherever you want the photo to appear and.....

[smg id=277]

The Forum now has a new 'front page' at www.threetownsforum.co.uk. This is intended to improve our Search Engine rankings and also explain a little bit of what the Forum is about to potential members.

Regular users can, of course, bypass this page and get straight to the Forum just by bookmarking:
