That's cool Dave. Thought I spotted Bernard Cribbins under the Major Deegan Expressway there for a minute.

Who's been to Florida, whereabouts did they go and what did they think of it?

More seriously, if anyone's thinking of visiting either Florida's theme parks or Disneyland Paris, then feel free to post any queries about either.  I'll help if I can.

Was there in the summer, and enjoyed a wonderful steak 'business' lunch with a friend, at a waterfront restaurant. Kept me waiting for ages before he eventually showed-up, then afterward, I had to foot the bill. Could peel an orange in his pocket with little effort that guy!

We've been twice and stayed in the Quality Inn 7650 International Dr, Orlando, FL 32819, USA. With a rented car we found it was ideally placed for Universal Studios Wet and Wild and for Sea World. Disney World was a little further but as long as you can avoid American Public Holidays it only took us about 20 minutes to get there. The good thing about International Drive is the way it's set up for tourists. Food outlets, Shopping Outlets, there’s plenty of fun things to see and do. There was very good Security on the entrances to the Hotel and plenty of Police presence for our protection on the streets so we never felt threatened.

...and Mrs Fester and I were there in 2004, and we had a great time until England v France was screened in all the bars on I-drive.

When France scored their winner in the 92nd minute all hell let loose, and swat teams with machine guns were swarming all over the bars and hotels to restore order.  Scary stuff.

In the meantime, we were sat in a quiet bar with Alan Smith, (just ben transferred from Leeds to Man Utd for £8m)   He had been left out of the England squad, and he was bemoaning the England performances over several American beers with a perplexed Fester.     How surreal is that?

Loved the theme parks once I'd sobered up.

I spent a month working in Elgin, Illinois; part of a vast conurbation west of Chicago. Try to imagine a seemingly unending Milton Keynes - that's what it was like.
