Has anyone got a photo of "The Street Circus" by Edward Povey.  It was the Mural on the side of Gwydir House in Conwy. The building has since been demolished.  It was painted on the side of the house on Bangor road in 1977.

Slight change of plan just had an e mail from Edward Poveys Studio (how important do I feel now)  Hehe

Just a silly riddle about Conwy.
Where in Conwy is/was the address which contained just one word plus "CONWY" four times?   Its not very long ago  Mike

Sorry Yorkie and SDQ.  Both wrong.   i may have described the question wrong in the first place. But I dont think so.

So here is again.     Yorkie is correct.  QUAY is one of the words.   The other is CONWY ------ BUT that is used FOUR times

I'm guessing there must have been a house on the quay called Conwy then?
So it would be:-
Conwy,
Conwy Quay,
Conwy,
Conwy.

If there were ever a boat in Conwy Marina called 'Conwy', and who to say that there isn't or hasn't been, the address for that boat would be

'Conwy'
Conwy Marina
Conwy
Conwy.

You actually asked "where?".  Did you want the full address?

Majormellons is the winner.  SDQ came very close.
Around about 1990 a very large boat sailed in and drew up against the wall. Ancours out. Gangplank down. Arrived to stay. It was of course called "Conwy."
It then opened as a restaurant.  Didnt take long for the Council to say Hey, business, rates.  So the bill arrived. The owner manager Captain, whatever said "If I've going to pay rates, then I want rubbish collected --- and I'm sticking a postbox by the gangplank, and mail can then come to me."  So that is how the address came into use.   mike

I remember it well, it was a rather poor conversion of an old hull all dressed up and was actually known as the Frigate Conwy:  See Folk CLub extract following.

A floating bar restaurant had recently moved in from Conwy Harbour, and it was proposed by one of the group that this would make an ideal venue for a Folk Club. The ship was known as the "Frigate Conwy" and it was agreed that a steering group approach the Management of the Frigate with the view of starting a Folk Club in the "Orlop Bar", that being the lowest of her decks. This proposal was welcomed, and with borrowed P.A. equipment and a great deal of faith, the first Folk Club night was set for Monday 12th August 1996.

The vessel didn't last for long.

And in fact the correct address was

The Frigate Conwy
The Quay   (not Conwy Quay)
Conwy
Conwy County (which only became so in April 1996 on the formation of the Unitary Authority)

So there is only 3 Conwy's.

Sorry can't find a photo.    ZXZ

Well ---- that has well and truly put my riddle making in the can. Apologies to anyone who might have spent time thinking about it.   But I have yet to see any letter addressed Conwy COUNTY.   The Quay is universally known as Conwy Quay. I could'nt spell Frigate.   And in any case I didnt ask for the correct address.   I just asked where my Quay and 4 Conwys was situated.
Never mind, it may have some of you a bit of a laugh. Mike
