I agree that parking is a problem for residents living within the walls its a nightmare on our street, I also agree that a "residents parking scheme (RPS) " would be a good idea.  What I object to is the fact we will be charged £80 for the privilege of parking outside our own houses.  Will local businesses have to park their cars in council car parks then? I wonder how much the fee is for 8 hours a day?  People just popping to the shops will also have to use council  car parks then I take it too?  Then of course we'll have more Traffic Wardens patrolling the streets to ensure no one flouts the rules and those who do will be fined, It seems to me the only benefit from the proposed plans will be the financial benefit gained by the Council. :rage: :rage:

There is only two questions really the report needs to answer.
1: Is there a need for a RPS in Conwy..................Yes
2: Should residents have to pay for the permit..................No they bloody shouldn't!!!

ps Thanks for posting the report Dwsi.  Just read it now.   ;D

I like the bit where it says The Council may choose to adopt this priority survey and listing as an annual process which could take account of parking displacement from newly introduced
residents parking schemes as well as other changes in parking levels, stock and
behaviour. In addition adoption of such a process would enable further residential
areas to be added to the waiting list and  be placed at the appropriate priority
level.

So in other words the Council may start with a few designated streets but then every year an assessment will be undertaken and more streets added to the scheme until eventually all the streets will be included anyway.  >>>

But, as always, they have to use three times as many words to tell you, and dress it all up in jargon and spin!    :rage:

£150,000 for the Lease....and then £35,100 rent per annum.

I liked the bit about "a popular beer garden to the rear, which overlooks the bay". Has the Town Wall been removed then?  ;D

Surely only the Bangor Road archway (which isn't original, it was built by Thomas Telford) needs widening? Then Coaches could enter over the Cob, drop off at Vicarage Gardens and then head out to a Coach Park maybe at Bodlondeb. They'd have to go round back through the tunnel to enter Conwy again certainly, but it would be the cheapest option.

The darn coaches could always come into town via Tal-y-Cafn they wouldn't have any bridges to worry about then and the Town Walls would be preserved.    Z**

With a Three Towns Park and Ride (Llandudno, Conwy and Colwyn Bay) using smaller coaches  to drop the people in the centre of the towns, there could be a more permanent solution to some of the traffic problems.   ZXZ

I went past the Albion today and all of the exterior lighting was switched on. No sign of anyone about, I did get this photo of the interior:
