Must have looked very impressive back then when it was painted white with limewash - amazing to think you can still see traces of the paint on the outer walls today.

Don't forget to give the Three Towns Forum hand signal if you sight a suspected fellow member at the Castle:

I tried it in Westlake this evening and people started shooting at me. People just don't know a decent forum when they see one.  >:(

This picture was on the wall in the Albion. The caption on it read "Albion darts team 1880".  obviously that was a joke.
Does anyone know where it's from.  If you look closely some of the women are actually men?  You can see their trousers under their frocks  :o

I was once told it was a protest picture for the Welsh Nationalists as men in those days would never wear a dress (debatable) it does look genuinely old.

The Weekly News reports that the owners of the derelict Billingtons' Garage are to be taken to Court.

Let us all hope that the site is cleared and tidied up as soon as possible - it has been an eyesore for far too long.

Nah I don't think so Andy, the older locals have told me it was on the wall for as long as they could remember.  I saw a copy of it once in the Old Bistro Bach over the road.

I love this little extract from the "History of the Caernarfonshire Constabulary" by J Owain Jones

........On one occasion in the 1920s the tramps in Conwy Workhouse went on strike.  They refused to do the tasks allotted to them in return for their board.  The police were called in and the tramps, nineteen of them, were sentenced to a months imprisonment, and taken to Walton Gaol, Liverpol in a bus specially hired for the purpose.  The town square of Conwy, where the police station is situated, was crammed with people who came to see them off.

You can imagine it can't you  *&(
