The Reverend David Parry Vicar of Conwy has written to Conwy Town Council saying the chimes from St Mary's Church is disturbing his sleep.
In response the Town Council has sent out a questionnaire to 400 residents asking for their views about the clock chiming every 15 minutes from 12.15 to 6.15.
He said if he was in charge of the clock he would have it switched the chimes off overnight as they aren't necessary & cause a disturbance to his family as they live nearby.
However his views haven't gone down well with Conwy residents, out of 200 questionnaires already returned 95% are in favour of keeping the chimes.
A BBC news crew have been in Conwy Town this morning asking for comments.
Wonder if the Vicar will be off to pastures new soon or makes an investment in earplugs for his family  ;)

I do consider myself fairly easy going, however if my sleep is disturbed, I can become a bit of a Victor Meldrew, so I sympathise
and I do not think his request is unreasonable.

CCBC Cabinet members have agreed to put Conwy Civic Hall back on the open market with the focus on including residential or hotel development, but without the section of the Quay that was included in previous offers.  Cllr Louis Emery said the cost to keep the empty building secure would be significant, so it's important to find a new use for the building as soon as possible. The funds from the sale of the Civic Hall have been allocated to the new Cultural Centre which will open October 2019.

Its a great building but needs a lot of money spending to remove the concrete box on the roof and reinstate something more sympathetic, let alone conversion costs to a hotel or restaurant. Id quite like to see it kept in public use, to be honest.
