I had a forced trip down memory lane early this morning. I THINK it's called back promenade but that might be a nickname.  It's the road you went along to getto the main entrance of Penrhos college. Last time I went along it? Probably sixty years ago.
Reason isent along it? Prom by The Toad well and truly sealed off by the Police.

A moped rider was taken to hospital for treatment after a collision with a car in Colwyn Bay this morning.

The accident happened on the West Promenade near the Toad Hall Inn shortly before 7.30am.

The car involved was a silver Ford Fiesta.

North Wales Police said the riders injuries were not serious.

I'd been wondering if the strange cream-coloured foam washing up on Colwyn Bay beach lately was pollution, or some weird after-effect of adding all that sand. A couple of days ago there was also an unpleasant smell, and an orangey-brown substance accompanying the foam.

Here's the answer, apparently: http://www.northwalespioneer.co.uk/news/123885/scientists-sniff-out-odour-in-colwyn-bay.aspx

It seems to be there every year and is worse sometimes depending on the weather.

There is a similar phenomena which occurs from now on in Llandudno Bay.
I have seen it for the last 4 years.

It is a cream coloured, foamy trail on the sea which emanates from the shore near the paddling pool, and extends accross the bay in a straight line, under the pier and beyond.
I thought it was pollution of some kind, but....

Those in 'the know' tell me it as an algae bloom and it disappears by mid August.

I am concerned over the size of the insects that land on our conservatory roof since the warm weather
