That's good news for Colwyn Bay but what about the Penmorfa Site in Llandudno that Anwyl wanted to develop 16 years ago?

How could they forget something that they paid £2.4 million for all those years ago?

Hugo just a suggestion, but why don't you fire off an e-mail to Cllr Charlie MacCoubrey Cabinet member for Housing & Regulatory at CCBC & ask him what is CCBC's policy on land banking? Especially the Penmorfa site which as you say has laid dormant for many years, in the light of a shortfall of land to build on in the area? I'm sure we would all be interested on what comes back.

WORK on a £3.5m affordable housing development on the site of a former hotel has started.
Anwyl Partnerships has started construction on the site of the former Edelweiss Hotel. A total of 31 apartments will be created. This includes 14 one-bedroom and 17 two-bedroom homes in Colwyn Bay.

The former hotel, once known as one of the jewels in Colwyn Bay’s crown, was demolished, making way for re-development.
ClwydAlyn acquired the site several years prior and appointed Anwyl Partnerships as its preferred construction partner, marking the third project Anwyl is currently on site with for the social housing provider.   cont  https://www.northwalespioneer.co.uk/news/18262305.work-starts-apartment-development-site-former-edelweiss-hotel-colwyn-bay/

Hugo, someone else not enamored with Anwyl, any of it sound familiar .........  This and other articles from https://www.google.com/search?q=thoughts+of+mrs+colwyn+bay&rlz=1C1CHBF_en-GBGB813GB813&oq=thoughtsofmrscolwyn&aqs=chrome.1.69i57j0j69i60l3.17887j1j8&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

Mrs, Colwyn Bay Says...Clwyd Alyn who has now teamed up with Anwyl to build these OAP flats claim in the new article that the building "which has been subject to vandalism and anti-social behavior for many years since closure in 2009." This is incorrect, the campaign group fought to save it when it had just gone empty and demolition was originally held off, It was demolished shortly after the occupants of the hotel left. Apparently, Clwyd Alyn promised the campaign group that they would leave the tower but flattened it anyway. Mark Baker who visited the Hotel believed that the welsh cottage behind the hotel which was also demolished dated back to the early 1700s. And also that there was an Ice House in the grounds. Clwyd Alyn refused to convert the building and destroyed everything around it despite the campaign groups concerns and that of local residents. The building of these ugly flats started last year, so why the advert now!

Last night we settled down in the sun lounge to watch Britain's Got Talent and towards 9.00 pm the TV went off without any warning and I couldn't get it to work,    So I went into our lounge and the same thing happened with the TV.       The one in the bedroom was exactly the same but luckily the TV in the kitchen worked so that's where we stayed to watch the end of the programme
It was a weird experience and I was wondering if it was just our TV's or if anyone in Colwyn Bay had the same trouble at about 9.00 pm?

The TV's are all working normally this morning so it's a mystery about what was going on last night

Perhaps a case for Scully & Mulder, Hugo.

Being serious, we have had quite a few black outs & blue screens with our TV over the past 3 weeks in Conwy & several episodes of having to retune the channels. Perhaps it's something to do with the way each TV receives their signals?

Thanks everyone for your comments, it's ok at the moment but I can't even call in a TV engineer at the moment with this lockdown.
It's strange too when I auto tune the TV's each one tunes into different channels so I get to hear the Welsh, North West and Yorkshire news and even the Irish at certain times

We have not had any problems, but when we moved in this time last year, it was necessary to set up additional external cabling, he advised that while he was on the roof checking the aerial, he had altered the position, to align with a mast, that would be getting upgraded soon, with a stronger signal, and would become the primary direction in future, not sure if something like this could cause your problem, but bear it in mind.

Thanks Steve, we have had problems in the past and got round it by having a booster fixed and new Aerial.     One of the problems was Pigeons pooping on some sensor but that had been sorted out.
This thing is completely new and the power just went off on the 3 TV's but strangely not on the fourth one.    It's weird but as we are not having a problem now I'll just wait and see if it happens  again

Westlife and Little Mix cancel shows in Colwyn Bay and say they will perform 'when time is right'.

Both shows have been cancelled as part of efforts to stop the coronavirus from spreading.

A derelict chapel is set to be tranformed after lying empty for 20 years.

Manchester developer Gothic & Stone has bought the imposing former Engedi Welsh Calvinistic Methodist chapel in Colwyn Bay, which it intends to convert into apartments.

It was bought from a trust in a deal assisted by Glaisyers Solicitors, which is also providing ongoing legal advice as the firm redevelops the disused church.

The developer has submitted plans, drawn up by the Manchester-based GA Studio Architects, to convert the former chapel into 18 residential apartments.      cont  https://www.dailypost.co.uk/news/north-wales-news/derelict-chapel-spectacular-after-3m-18181692

Plans to build 22 houses in the second tranche of an Old Colwyn residential scheme will be come back to councillors after a change in Welsh Government planning policy.

At its virtual meeting next week the authority’s planning committee will again consider the application by Macbryde Homes for the development of 22 homes off Dolwen Road, Old Colwyn.

On January 8 this year the scheme was handed to officers to pass with conditions laid down by the committee about road widening, landscaping, street lighting and Section 106 payments – which help towards improving community assets such as open spaces, play areas and local services.

However the Section 106 agreement with officers had not been agreed by the time new planning rules from Welsh Government were issued on March 26. cont  https://www.northwalespioneer.co.uk/news/18500831.macbryde-homes-scheme-22-homes-recommended-approval/
